~Hair (musical) *** this is definitely an interesting movie to see now for how it addressed war, sexism & racism.
~Serpent and the Rainbow (horror) **** saw it alone. Screamed a little, maybe. Voodoo references too close to the bone for this Creole grl.
~Delicatessen (comedy/drama) **** charming, as Jean Pierre Jeunet's work always is.

I can't believe I'm watching Rocky 2nite. What a DickFlick. Suggestions are welcome as always, esp. comedy, with which I am hard to please. One day I will be able to say "I have seen every movie that was ever important," & I won't be lying like last time.

Speaking of DickFlicks, last night the group and I watched all three Rambo movies. We became much more manly for a few hours, but by morning it has worn off.

Comedy is a tough one. Few movies make me laugh a lot. My all-time favorite comedy is still This Is Spinal Tap, though I can imagine that some wouldn't see what the big fuss is. I just think it's brilliant. made by those A Mighty Wind and Best in Show guys.

Also Idiocracy was funny, though the first time I watched it I laughed grudgingly. The second time was lots of laffs

the Mighty Wind/Best in Show type movies are cute, but don't get me laughing very hard.

& delayed hilarity is an interesting phenomenon. when i first saw Zoolander i was SO angry at everyone who told me it was funny. but the 2nd time i saw it, i was with a friend & strangely, the film had me rolling. i still hate Ben Stiller tho. 4ever & always.

Spinal Tap is much funnier than Wind and Show. So many classic lines, so much masterfully improvised stupidity.

The first rambo film surprises people, because it's not about rambo kicking ass in Vietnam--takes place in america and is much smaller in scope, i.e., fewer explosions. Rambo 2 and 3 are what one would expect.
