I'm guessing that the time lapse clouds effect is something akin to perceptual shock. Moving so slowly one can't perceive it being as alive as it looks in time lapse.

There was a thing on "The Infinite Mind" a while back about people who have severe perceptual disorders regarding time. You ought to give it a listen if you get a chance.

I think it's just being extra sensitive. You have a cross sensory translative capacity. Lots of good poets and artists have it.
Van Gogh for example.
