OH MY GOD BARN OWLS

You know my mom actually rehabilitates raptors at a local clinic as a volunteer now that she's retired. If you guys ever come to visit, I'll take you there. My family's been a big benefactor over the years, so I could probably arrange a special "behind the scenes" tour.

the beads are his little friends

We should all be so lucky so as to have the spines of turtles

The siamese daisy looks like an angry cartoon mouth. Grrr. Angry flowers!

Ideally, if I wrote a book it would have pictures, too.

Turtle spines, siamese gerber daisies and big mama. What a gorgeous picture post!

These photos are beautiful.

When I was a young child (as opposed to the old one I am now) I used to wish to be so small that I could live inside a flower, play all day in the maze of petals. There were times when I'd fall asleep thinking that this surely would be the night it happened but I'd wake the next morning full-size. Though this seems to have carried over into adulthood I don't think it's for the same reasons I wish I'd awake somewhat smaller.

The peony looks like something bloodstained and feminine. I want to wrap myself in it like a cocoon.

I miss you.

I enjoy your clever captions as much as I do your photographs as much as I do their subjects. So there.

Also, The turtle spine reminds me of what would happen if you laid on a pew on shot the roof of a cathedral.

Also also, siamese gerberas look like colorful angry tiki gods.

I learned when I was very young that a turtle's spine is fused to its carapace. The first time I saw a cartoon turtle remove its shell for bed I. lost. my. mind.
