No, no, Harold and Maude is great because there was no such thing as a goth kid in 1971, especially in American movies. I think it's hard to see it now for what it was because of how ridiculously influential it it is to indie cinema and how accessible cult movies are since the video age. For years after it came out, it was still far ahead of mainstream Hollywood fare. I can't really think of another example of counterculture ideas being expressed that early outside of safely hippie-ized settings.
