painted ladies

if we tasted with our feet, maybe we would wear marshmallow shoes.
if we had huge sails strapped to our backs, we might pray to the wind.
if we had 10,000 eyes we'd be awfully distracted.

U come up with something different quite a lot in images, even if it's just an old towel with an orange and butterflies and whatnot. Gee wiz!

do we taste with our feet, or eat with our feet? because we might eat our shoes. and this could be a problem.

right now i'm in the school library 'working on a book review.' a girl near me is resizing hello kitty (uncolored) coloring book images. i'm wondering what kind of wonderful major hers is that THIS is what she gets to spend time doing, while i give myself seizures over this horrible business ethics book (btw, my major has nothing to do with business ethics).

This is such a cool project. What happens next? Do you keep them with the idea of releasing them into the wild at some point? Or are they permanent residents? Beautiful!

well, the directions say not to release them into temperatures lower than 55 degrees, and it's on the cusp of that around here lately, so the alternative is to raise them in their habitat. they don't have a very long lifespan. the problem is i just caught two of them mating!

after hatching out of chrysalis, they live for a month or less.
their marriages are short-lived, like celebrities!

the undersides of their wings are very grey and boring for camouflage, but when they open them it's all show and flash. it's funny how they have two costumes for very different purposes.

an unfamiliar reality
